What if a campus could be both a place to learn and a lesson in sustainable living? On the banks of Vellayani Lake in Kerala, India, the award-winning kanthari campus was recognised by HUDCO as India's second-greenest campus in 2013.Inspired by Laurie Baker's cost-effective, climate-responsive approach, it shows that beautiful spaces do not need to depend on expensive, resource-heavy construction. From mud buildings, natural cooling, rainwater harvesting and grey-water treatment to solar hot water and PV power, eco-san toilets, bamboo structures and gardens, the campus puts practical sustainability into action.Do you have a vision to start an organisation that tackles a social or environmental challenge in your community? The next 12-month kanthari impact-leadership course starts in April 2027. At kanthari, we believe lasting solutions start with truly understanding the problem. Through an exercise called The Washing Machine, participants learn to look beyond visible symptoms. They explore root causes, the people affected, existing systems, assumptions, and possible unintended consequences.Social challenges are rarely simple. Addressing only what we see may bring temporary relief, but meaningful change requires better questions, careful listening, and fresh thinking.Do you already know the change society needs—and want the skills to turn your vision into an impactful organisation?Apply today for the 2027 kanthari course: www.kanthari.org/admissions#kanthari #SocialChange #SocialEntrepreneurship #SystemsThinking #ImpactLeadership #changemakersMusic generated with Suno

It’s the first powerful question a changemaker should answer. 💡Every impactful organization starts with a personal story when someone decides, "I need to solve this." That story isn't just background noise; it gives the entire project its heart, direction, and identity. This past week, our participants dug deep into their personal profiles to answer that exact question. They crafted clear, compelling statements defining why they are uniquely equipped to lead their projects forward. What’s the story behind the project you’re building?
